Hello all, I've been using rpi3b with LibreELEC and recently decided to try android. I installed Lineage OS, but it kept restarting by its self. Then I installed Emteria OS and I'm quite satisfied with its functionality.

I want to make dual boot Emteria OS and LibreELEC (and maybe Raspbian) on the same microSD card.

I'd appreciate some help if it's possible

Is there an image file that can be downloaded, or is the only option the Emteria disk creator?

Hello, I am trying out Emteria on an Elo I-Series 2.0 Android device, which is on your list of supported devices. I have unlocked the bootloader and have effectively rooted the device, so I have cleared all barriers to installation, but the knowledge base does not make it clear how the OS is supposed to be installed to the devices. The installer wants to make an SD card, and when I let it go through the full process it creates one, but the bootloader does not seem to recognize it as a valid update using my available options.

I see from the 'package.json' created in the work directories for the Emteria installer that the installation method is 'fastboot', along with 'boot', 'oem', 'recovery' and 'system' partition images, but the Knowledge Base does not provide directions for how to use these, or the resulting SD Card. I am able to boot into your 'recovery.img' by putting the device into fastboot and running 'fastboot boot recovery.img' as expected, but before I run any potentially destructive commands on my device, I want to be fully sure what I am intended to do.

Hi guys,
I installed Emteria using the Raspberry Pi Imager and followed all the steps carefully, including formatting to FAT32. I’m using a 256GB SD card with a Raspberry Pi 4B and an Elecrow 5 touchscreen.

After installation, the system booted normally at first but then went straight to a blank screen and has stayed that way. The SD card also shows a structure that looks a bit odd to me, not sure if that is typical, as this is my first time working with Emteria.

Any ideas on what might be causing this white background issue?

Card did not respond to voltage select! : -110
Couldn't find partition mmc 0:1

I'm guessing the boot is set to only SDcard. Any other options?

PS Also I'm getting errors and issues with your user login password reset, and logging into Forum/Website Dashboard, had to create new user could get reset, some error on token for cookies I'm going to have to try another browser. Still testing, anybody else?

Hi. I have a problem with using the Emteria installer. The installer is not detecting my micro SD card at all. I've tried to refresh for the new drive, reopen the installer, reinstall the installer, restart my computer, use many other micro SD cards, but still no luck, the same thing happened.

After some time, I've found out that the installer is ignoring my external drive (micro SD Card).
Here is the output of the Emteria Installer:

Refreshing drives
Ignoring system drive "Samsung MZVLB1T0HALR-000L2"
Ignoring external drive "Generic MassStorageClass USB Device"
Ignoring system drive "ST1000LM049-2GH172"
Found 0 drive(s)

I'm using the Sandisk 256GB micro SD Card with using the "exFat" format.
and using the Emteria Installer v1.1-37.

Can someone help me with this issue? Is it something wrong with my computer or what? Or I need to change or install something on my computer to make it works?

I just tried to use the OS installer on Ubuntu Desktop 20.04.5 LTS and it ended with a failure indicating that the card was read-only after verifying the files. When I attempted to use the card in the RPi 4, it failed to launch because the RPi could not write to the SDCard. When I put the card back into the Ubuntu machine, I was unable to do anything with it because the installer indeed set the entire drive (/dev/sdb in this case) to read-only, as opposed to just the boot partition (or whatever it was supposed to set to read-only). The sdcard can no longer be used because it cannot be reformatted due to this issue. I'm using installer version 1.1-43 with rpi4-v13.2.0 image.

Are there any issues with the Raspberry Pi 4 Install? I keep getting errors either flashing the card (2 different ones tried). If I am able to get the card flashed, the OS never boots. I have even let the it run over night but various errors keep going by so fast it is hard to tell what the issue is.

I have also tried the various versions (Live, Nightly, Beta) offered from the installer with the same results. I have enclosed a picture to provide some of the items listed. Again this sequence runs and never goes to the GUI screen. I have previous installed Emeria on 3 different Raspberry Pi 3 models, so I am aware of the process and what is supposed to happen

Hi. I'm currently running the OS on a Raspberry Pi 4 using a 16Gb card but what I also like to do is take periodic backups of the card so that in the event of a card/os failure, I can restore from a saved image.

Problem is, with 16Gb cards, over time that can take up quit a large abount of space. As with other Raspberry Pi images, I've used a program called PiShrink to reduce the file size and tried it on one of my images. It seem to do the shrinking okay but when I put the image onto a 16gb card and attempted to start the Pi, the green light kept flashing 4 time and system wouldn't boot.

I tried another shrinking and what I have noticed is that at the very start of the process, it refers to '/etc not found so autoexpand will not be enabled'

Any suggestions

Thanks

I am at my wits end with emteria installers, and every avenue I try has given hours of stress and frustration leading to a dead end. Is there not in all the advertising and other trash of which your website is so full, a simple bit image file for a Raspberry Pi (of your choice)? This should be of your your 'best' android emulation trial edition. E.g,

DD if=(SimplyDownloaded).iso of=/dev/sdc

where dev/sdc is an microSD card I intend to simply put in a raspberry Pie. Hey-presto! I should actually experience emteria Operating system and all the joy your website goes on about.

Why is this so exceedingly complicated?

Yogi35

For some reason my USB flash drive is not recognized by the installer so I'm not able to flash the images onto it. But since the installer has an option to download instead of flash, I did that.

Now I have these files downloaded:

boot.zip

oem.zp

system.zip

package.json

What can I do now to install the OS having these 4 files?

Downloaded the Linux installer and followed the instructions. Its starts up nicely on my Rpi3, and i get to the part where i need to go online to register, and that is where it all stops as I want to review it and not buy it.

I find no good ways to get beyond this point, setting up a "group" in the empteria webpage where its for testing as a system for my boat(private boat) in order to utilize a 23 inch touch screen.

When one sets up obstacles for people even testing your software, its not a very good sign, as it looks so desperate and so far away from the open source philosophy that is the reason one can make this software.

So for me to be using time to make a FORUM POST in order to TEST the product as a private person, seems ridiculous in 2020.

Why not make it clear and obvious what to do to test in and not waste peoples time on inviting for testing and then make it a cluster fuck ones your up and going?

I came to the point where i am to fill in my email and password and that states No license and there it stops.

Now please, lets spend some time to walk me through the complex procedure to just see this working at no cost, no credit card and no bullshit.
