Can't update or download

Hi guys, I have been on version 5.2 for over a month now, and I coudnt update it. Today I wiped the SD card and tried to redownloading the latest image onto it. It always says cannot download or something like that. I am using a Mac. What should I do?

    Automatic updates are only available on activated devices.
    If you don't have a valid license, you have to use the installer. In this case you should download the latest version of the installer first.

    Oh. How do I update without wiping the SD card?

    You need a valid license to run automatic system update.
