KNX Touch Display with Emteria
Hello,
I want to build a Touch display for my KNX System with Sound Webcam and Micro.
The display will be mounted on a stainless steel cover with a acrylic back about 4 mm thick to have a nice backlight with Led's , i also will inculde 2 or 4 Capacitive Touch sensors in the cover that i run direct with a tasterschnittstelle KNX .
The problem i have right now is if i change the app. or the screensaver closes the app it needs about 10 seconds to reconect and i dont want that, as the Powersuply for the display runs over the the gpio pins, is there a easy way to put a motion detector between that conection or is there a way to programm the gpio output to power and power off only the display like a screensaver that way my aplikation is still runnung in the raspberry and i dont need to restart the application .
Bye Andre

Hi Andre,
That sounds interesting. So your problem is basically the motion detection (not the display)? I don't know how to achieve that, but controlling the display backlight and/or power should be possible in the RPi-native way: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=108&t=146336
about the often mentiond sound problem i bought this https://www.roboter-bausatz.de/569/5v-audioverstaerkerplatine-pam8403-2-3w
and 2 Speakers https://www.conrad.de/de/miniatur-lautsprecher-geraeusch-entwicklung-76-db-1-w-visaton-2941-1-st-710770.html
Sounds real good and clear with no case, but for propper sound i have to build a speaker case.
for the Display on and off ,i will use a relay board and switch the power together with a motion sensor on the celling as long as motion is detected it will stay on and if the motion has no signal the display is powering off after 1 min. that way the app is running without disturbing and no need for a screensaver.
Bye Andre
