Any plans to get the 3.5" lcd screens to work?
I bought one off of ebay.
The info on mine is
Driver: ILI9486
Dots: 320x480
SKU: MPI3501
I think it is a clone of the popular waveshare 3.5" screens which has a driver called lcd_show which is a shell script. I tried running that but didn't work due to no sudo.
Is it in the works to make these little screens work on emteria or indeed a way now to make them work? It connects via the gpio pins. Currently when I would boot with it plugged in it gives power but just shows a white screen.

Not really. Having that small screens will probably make the interaction quite difficult and you will need to increase the pixel density in order to see something, which in turn will slow down the system.
If you need sudo, you can use "adb root" or "su" from the shell and check if it give you what you need.
