Official 7" Touchscreen brightness
Hello,
is there an option to set the brightness of the official touchscreen? Because the default value is to high. I can not set the brightness with the default android brightness slider.
Have a nice day

Just do it the standard Raspbian way: https://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/46225/adjusting-the-brightness-of-the-official-touchscreen-display
Thanks. It works fine.
Hey,
we've also now added a lights HAL. So in the upcoming emteria.OS release, you will be able to control the brightness of the official touchscreen through the Android interface.
Hi,
thanks for the fast releases and great work .
But I think there is a little issue with the brightness of the touchscreen in version 0.4.4. Because I cannot dim the backlight with the slider as in release 0.4.2
Yeah, sorry for that At the moment it is the intended behavior. There are users with old touchscreens (hardware revision 1.0), which do not support dimming (see https://forum.emteria.com/discussion/91/black-screen-after-install-with-orgnial-7-touch). To stay usable, the brightness value shouldn't fall below 128, which doesn't leave much of range for the actual dimming. Long story short, in order to support both screens, we decided to sacrifice the dimming option. However, we have a plan to add this option to the settings and allow users to choose which touchscreen they have. In the mean time, you can extract the file "lights.rpi3.so" from the old release and replace it in 0.4.4. It will bring you the desired behavior back. Sorry for the invonvenience.
Hi,
thanks for your fast answer.
No Problem I only was a little bit suprised
