Failure running emteria.OS_Installer-v1.0-26 on Mac

I have downloaded emteria.OS_Installer-v1.0-26.AppImage fo the /Applications directory on my iMAC with macOS Catslins.
Followed the instruction which are listed in Emteria's First Tutorial, like sudo chmod a+x emteria.OS_Installer-v1.0-26.AppImage and tried yo run the installer by using sudo emteria.OS_Installer-v1.0-26.AppImage.
But all I get s a result is the error message "cannot execute binary file"
Can someone please explain to me what I am doing wrong ?
