I have a Windows X64, installation went all smooth.

I even tried logging into the website and that is succesful but the installer login is failing please help!!!

Comments

  • Please check your internet connection, your time and language settings and remote all spaces & newlines in the installer screen. But our logs show that your login was successful.

  • I installed it on a linux box and everything went fine.

  • Hi, I am having exactly the same problem on Fedora 27, when I logon in the installer it says "Login failed - try again" but I can access the website interface without problems with the same credentials, I need your help this is quite important, thanks ahead...

  • @Ddmaco, did you check the console for SSL-related problems? I remember there have been some similar messages in the past. Please search the forum for more details.

  • @Ddmaco, I had the same issue on Debian, I just install libssl1.0-dev and then everything was working fine for me.

  • Same here! You can't login. This seems to be a common issue. It won't let you install due to the failed login. I just setup the account, I know the login details are correct. I am on a Windows 10 machine. Skip login and use local image doesn't work either. That spits out multiple errors and fails.

  • I setup a new account on a Windows 10 machine, and again the login fails. You have a definite issue with your installer. And it seems you just want to ignore it. Problems since August of 2018 and no answers.

  • Maybe reset your password to be sure? You have an internet connection? Firewall blocking outgoing traffic? Windows 10 gives errors even if you have you login correct , I speek from experience 😀

  • Nope! Turned off the firewall completely! Shut down the antivirus as well. Put the router in DMZ. Same result. The installer is flawed. I'm here, that would indicate an internet connection. And just like everyone else here that didn't get an answer, I will continue to look for a solution that works. But thanks for the suggestions!

  • @Bill168 can you paste the errors from the install logs ?

  • Not sure why there would be install logs? Because there was no installation. But there are! Here is what I have. (And of course it's to long to post). I'll split it up.

  • I was just checking for any errors that could be there.

So after this whole logging it says wrong credentials ?

  • Yes it says Login Failed - Try again

  • If this is any indication of how the software is going to work, why would anyone want it. They don't even have an installer that works. The even better question is, why do I need to login to install it? I have already created an account, logged in to the web page,
and downloaded the software. But then I have to login through the installer to install the software. That is flat out STUPID! What is the point in that? Especially since it doesn't even work.

  • @kalkov Igor maybe you can supply him with a img to burn ?

  • @Bill168 , I know you are super frustrated and I have no idea what's going wrong but if it tells you the login failed you reset your password and try again?

  • By the way I have successfully installed on Windows 10 and Ubuntu. The process on Ubuntu always went flawless , windows 10 keeps claiming the new partitions the second they get created and it always takes me one or 2 tryes. I blame windows not the installer

  • Windows 10 is notorious for giving errors with the Emteria installer.

  • I read people with windows 7 have a higher success rate

  • I've setup two different accounts, neither works. I can login to the web page no problem. And I have the IMG, it's all here on my hard drive. I have the software, it won't install. I've tried two different versions 0.5-9 and 0.6-13. If I try to install from the local folder that Emertia is in, it tells me it's a bad directory. I can't login in or install either version. I also tried to login using my Windows user name and password, still a no go! I have installed Raspbian, KODI, IoT, Crankshaft, from windows 10 just to name a few. No problems with ANY of them. That being the case, I can't blame Windows. I do have a Windows 7 machine, I will try that. But if it doesn't work under Windows 10, they should state that right from the start.

  • It's more of a windows 7 gives you less trouble then windows 10 situation. Hope you get it to work.

  • In all honesty Igor should provide a image to burn and do the registration in Emteria once it's running.

  • Let's calm down a little and see what happened there. My second comment to the original question seems still relevant: did you check if there are any (SSL) errors in the console output of our installer? I see an installation log (which doesn't say anything about the runtime behavior), but I don't see a log of the actual program execution. Without a log, there is no point in guessing - it can be anything.

As I've mentioned in other comments, we don't plan to support ISO images any time soon. See https://forum.emteria.com/discussion/comment/1549/#Comment_1549.

  • Where would I find that log? I did take a screenshot of that window but there is no way to send it here. I am getting more than a few "QSslSocket: cannot call unresolved function" errors. But I can't find any log file that would allow me to copy it and paste it here.

  • It sounds like the installer application fails to use required SSL libraries for secure communication (both system ones and those included into the package). This would explain why you can't login - we don't trust any unprotected connections.

Please feel free to upload your screenshot to any free hoster (like imgbb or imgur) and post a link here. Additionally, please provide me more details about your Windows: which version of Windows 10, is it 32bit or 64bit?

  • Windows 10 Home 64 bit. I have all available updates.

  • Doesn't look like my link went through so here it is again. https://imgur.com/CfOFmiv

  • Definitely SSL issue. I'm not a windows user so I can't help... but it's fixable from what I have read in the past.

Whoa wait a second !!! Did that say OpenSSL 1.0.2j ??? Umm that version is no longer supported in any OS. Install a newer version.

    https://slproweb.com/download/Win64OpenSSL-1_1_1a.exe

    Source: https://slproweb.com/products/Win32OpenSSL.html and https://www.cloudinsidr.com/content/how-to-install-the-most-recent-version-of-openssl-on-windows-10-in-64-bit/

  • I did get it to run on Win 7, that has 1.0.2q and it did work. I'm thinking OpenSSL had to come with Windows because I never installed it. Not sure why it doesn't update. I did get it to fly on Linux Mint as well. Probably should of started there in the first place. Thanks guys!

  • @kalkov please close this thread

  • That's great news!

  • Awesome, thanks for reporting & thanks for everybody else for help.
