raspberry pi official 7 inch touch screen flickering issue

I have download emteria to an sd and tsstedcit on a 3b board via hdmi with no issue. I have then connected the touch screen after it boots up i get black flickering lines on the horizontal axis on. I have tested a raspbian os with screen and had no issue. Anyone got any advice on solving this?

    Do a fresh installation with 7" screen connected. emteria initializes the screen during the first boot, so changing the screen afterwards is a bad idea.

    Thanks, do you mean once i have put the os image onto the micro sd open it for the first time using the screen?

    Yes, the screen initialization happens during the initial setup wizard.
