How to run in headless mode

I was wondering if it is possible to run the OS in headless mode? What I really want to do is use the Pi for blackbox testing some mobile applications. I know there are many other ways to do that (Appium, etc.). In this use case, i do not need to see the GUI. And even if the GUI is generated something that consumes the least possible resources would be preferable.

Any suggestion?

    Go ahead and try it. The OS should have no issues with booting without a screen.
