Emteria OS on Commercial Tablets

edited February 2025 in Supported devices

Hello everyone,

I’m just starting to work with Emteria and saw that they plan to sell a tablet. I truly appreciate this initiative and hope the pricing remains competitive in my local market.

I wondered if anyone has tested Emteria OS on commercially available Samsung or Lenovo tablets. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thank you in advance!

  • @aroeira Hey we are currently not supporting any Samsung or Lenovo tablets out of the box. Find supported hardware here: https://emteria.com/supported-hardware

  • @aroeira if you are only interested in our MDM, it can be installed on other Android builds: https://emteria.com/kb/device-enrollment-using-qr-code

  • I have a Samsung tablet (Galaxy Tab A9+, SM-X210) running Android 15. I was unable to get it to do anything useful with the QR code from the wifi setup screen.

    But I have sideloaded EmteriaMdm-v40300000.apk

I can't register the device though, both the Emteria Account and Activation Code options result in "Error contacting server. Request was invalid"

    Any suggestions?

  • @JasonYass sideloading isn't enough in that case. The MDM app has to be enrolled as DeviceOwner, and that's only possible through 6-tap enrollment, which has to be supported by the device manufacturer - not sure if that's the case for your Tab A9+.
The WiFi SetupScreen is unrelated to this process.
