There is no sound

edited February 2018 in Supported devices

I installed it freshly 0.5.7. then updated 0.5.8. Audio playback does not work. The OS was preceded by KODI. Is this a problem? What should I do to make the sound work?

  • Sorry to hear that. What audio output are you using?

    The 3.5 mm jack does not sound. Do not have an option where you can set the audio output?
    It's still a problem that there is no constant volume control.

  • The 3.5mm audio jack should be working w/o further configuration. Are any other audio devices connected (e.g. USB)?

    We don't plan to add any additional volume control features besides of those already existing in Android.

  • even i am facing same issue ...i am using HDMI cable between PI and TV

  • There are no HDMI sound. Only the 3.5mm audio jack.

  • I only have the HDMI sound, the 3.5 mm jack does not sound.

    Add the following line to config.txt then the 3.5 mm audio jack will work.
    hdmi_ignore_edid_audio=1

    It will not let you change it. You can write the text, but it can not be saved or allowed. You can not change the desktop PC either.

    It works fine on Windows 10, Use EditPad Pro as in screenshot.
    it surely can be done on the Pi itself using file manager or via ssh or whatever but since you are not able to do it that way i got to find the most simple method to avoid any further problems.

  • thank you, succeeded!
