the Easiest way to install google

step 1 go to http://opengapps.org/
step 2 choose system x86 - 7.1 - and pico than download (note if you choose another version your pi will be very slow I tested all of them and this is the only one that works )
step 3 put the download file into your SD card
step 4 boot your pi into recovery mode (when your turn on the emteria there is a power off button tap there than choose reboot in recovery)
step 5 choose install from zip and install the zip file you downloaded and reboot

done you now have a working version of google play...

no need all the crazy changes or codes

  • Unfortunately, it does not work at 0.5.0, even after 2.5 hours.

There is a "power off button"? I don't see this boot recovery option you are talking about. And it's .bin file not a .zip file. But I tried downloading it direct to the Pi. You might want to point out you need to do this from your computer, not from Emteria. Because that downloads the .bin file, you guys assume everyone would know that. And you shouldn't. And the .zip file won't fit on the E: drive of the 32gb SD card I have. So where do you put the file? I'm new to the Pi but no matter what OS you put on it, there are always unformatted partitions. I have a D: an F: and a G: partition all of which are unformatted. The E: partition where Emteria sits is only 70mb. And the .zip won't fit there. Am I not formatting and partitioning the SD card properly?

  • DO NOT USE GAPPS !!!! EVER....... it will bogg the entire system down and won't work.

Use microG instead.... search the forum for it.

  • If you install GAPPS no one will help you here... you are on your own.
